Boulder, Western Australia
Boulder Oval , now called Digger Daws Oval, has been the home of the Boulder City and Mines Rovers football clubs in the Goldfields Football League for over a hundred years. The clubs enjoy a healthy rivalry with Mines (the Diorites) being more successful over the years than the Tigers. From the western wing of the ground the vista hasn’t changed much over the past century or so. It takes in the Recreation Hotel, the mighty Boulder Town Hall and the now boarded up All Hallows church.
Famous Diorites include the first Sandover Medal winner Tom Outridge, Essendon star Alec Epis and the legendary Nipper Turuscott.Sandover Medal winners Jack Rocchi, Sonny Maffina and Lin Richards all came from the Tigers.
