This classic scoreboard is still standing but it’s likely that it’s not used much, or at all, these days, given there is an electronic scoreboard on the wing, opposite the clubrooms.

Memo to self: Next time you’re in Beechworth spend a good half hour at the footy ground, rather than a rushed five minutes. Give yourself time to explore the grandstand, which appears to be set back a long way behind the Balaclava St goals. Give yourself time to figure out which fairways of the golf course run alongside the wing, the forward pockets,, behind the goalsquare. Give yourself time to savour the spaces.
