In their book Bush Legends: South Australian Country Footy Stories (2003) , Anthony Madigan and Michael Madigan write: “The original oval, complete with mallee tree goal posts, entry statement (proclaiming Premiers 1920-21-22) and tiny scoreboard are still intact at Clements Gap Conservation Park. It remains one of Aussie rules’ greatest treasures.”

The site has been well looked after and new goal posts, in the old style, were erected in 2015. It also includes a cricket pitch.

The footy club ran from 1914 to 1940. Clements Gap was undefeated in the premiership years 1920-22. They played in the Broughton Central Football Association.
