We last visited Vincentia in New South Wales in 2016, so were delighted to hear from club member Peter Clark about Bomber Oval’s new scoreboard.
“The ground now has a shiny new electronic scoreboard,” Peter told us. “The scoreboard, which sits above the change rooms and canteen, is the result of the tireless work of the club’s committee and with the benefit of government grants.”
And the chap in the foreground of the photo?
That’s Phil Kennedy: past president, junior coach, women’s footy team coach, life member and heart and soul of the Bay and Basin Bombers Football Club.
Phil is a football fanatic and a community minded giant in every way.
“And we would not have a new scoreboard without his vision, energy and determination,” says Peter. “We can forgive him for wearing a Swans cap to a Bombers game, as the Swans run a close second in his football allegiances.”
The club has resurrected a senior team, which plays in the South Coast AFL Division 2 competition.
