I took this pic just before I facilitated a forum with the Ilfracombe community at their magnificent rec facility hall where the rugby league club is based. It was 6.30pm and still 36 degrees outside. (Have a close look at the cheeky wording of the guarantee on the sponsor’s sign in the top left corner of the scoreboard.)

The consultation is being undertaken to inform Longreach Regional Council’s new corporate plan. They’re a passionate bunch here. A desire to have a local law which ensures people can keep their horses in their backyard was a highlight.

Talking of horses, here’s a pic I took earlier this year. (Here’s hoping the clay target club is a long way from the racecourse.)
