The country pub, a great place for a drink after a long day’s play but also for many cricket clubs the hub of their social life.

Country hotels provide sponsorship and a place for players to socialise after a hot day in the sun.

The Sevenhill Hotel in the Clare Valley gets right behind its local cricket club, with this scoreboard giving players and supporters, and onlookers, like us, the chance to keep up to date with the week’s scores.

On Saturday 27 October, it was a mixed day for Sevenhill Cricket Club with the A1s going down to Watervale, while the A2s got up for a win over the same foe.

The win for the A2s wasn’t a bad result considering the side had forfeited to Clare Combined in the previous week’s opening round.
