When you’ve posted 900 of these yarns about scoreboards, one can be forgiven for forgetting that you had already featured some grounds. Still, it doesn’t hurt to see what’s changed.
Our first visit to Kingston was 10 years ago, courtesy of the ever-eloquent Chris Rees.
This time around we learnt that since 2021 the scoreboard has been known as The Robbie Kiss Scoreboard.
AFL Tasmania (Facebook, May 2021) tells us that “Robbie Kiss has been scoring and timekeeping games for the Kingborough Tigers Juniors since 2006. Described as “the most dedicated, focused and accurate timekeeper you could wish for”, Robbie has also volunteered for the Tasmania University Football Club since 2017. That means Robbie works both Saturdays and Sundays on many weekends, and he often runs back-to-back games— in fact, one recent Sunday he scored four games in a row!”
