2016 Stonnington Gift, Toorak Park, Victoria

It’s time to have a look at the David Mandie Scoreboard at Toorak Park, up late for the 2016 Stonnington Gift!

After a low-key two camera trial of live footage and replays for the 2015 event, this year we had a four camera production, mixing the live video feed with sponsors’ graphics, runners’ start lists and of course – instant replays!  With the advances in technology, for clubs with the new video screens, you can now put on quite a good little grassroots production.

The scoreboard video feed was directed by David McLauchlan for Northern Access TV, a community TV production group.

The scoreboard graphics and replays were mixed in by yours truly (Michael Costello, above), who enjoys Stonnington Gift night heaps, as he lives out his dream of being a Video Scoreboard director.  See, it’s not only the athletes whose dreams come true these days!

Scoreboard Pressure helped me find a happy home as a volunteer at Toorak Park (home of the Prahran Cricket Club, the Stonnington Gift, and Old Xaverians Football Club).  Thanks!

The highlights of the Stonnington Gift will be broadcast on C31 Melbourne on Saturday 19th March at 1:30pm.
