Our Olympic correspondent Chris Egan worked as a volunteer in the press room at the tennis in Rio.

On 13 August he reported…

“Yesterday was one of the most spectacular sporting events I have been at. Berlucci v Nadal on centre court at Rio. The atmosphere was insane and at the end was “ole, ole, ola”. The game was brilliant but it was the fans who made it the experience it was. Gold Medal days in the tennis today, a lot will have to top the experience of yesterday. There is nothing like it in world tennis –  the passion for it in this continent!”
