Bridgetown (cricket), Western Australian

I found myself at Bridgetown on grand final day on Saturday and things were pretty relaxed. The juniors had a game followed by a trophy presentation and the seniors were in good spirits as they showed me around and prepared the ground for the big match.

My work was done and I was on my way before the game started but through the wonders of My Cricket was able to get all the news from an emphatic grand final victory.

Playing in the Warren Blackwood Cricket Association, Bridgetown made 9/203 with contributors everywhere – Tom Sherwood made 43, Simon Duncan (38), captain Shane Glancy (34) and Mitch Clothier (31).

Boyup Brook were bundled out for 90 with Rob Brayshaw taking 4/18, Clothier 3/27, Duncan 2/16 and Kim Gardiner 1/13.

There’s nothing very fancy about the Bridgetown Cricket Club, as the scoreboard shows, but the juniors are growing and seniors are the premiers.

Frankie and I visited Bridgetown to look at the footy scoreboard in 2011…
