These pictures are scanned images of a photocopy of a 1929 photograph. So, apologies if they are not crystal-clear.

I found the photocopy inside a manila folder (remember them?) inside a filing cabinet (remember them?) inside my garage (my backyard version of Trove).

You won’t be surprised that it wasn’t the team photo that caught my eye.

By zooming in on the scanned image I caught site of a gentleman standing quite formally beside the cricket scoreboard. An official? A scoreboard aficionado?

The manila folder contained other excellent Glenferrie scoreboard images, courtesy of Hawthorn Football Club’s very helpful historian Peter Haby. I posted several of the images onto this site, back in 2011. Take a look sometime.
