The old scoreboard at the former home of the Ocean Grove Football & Netball Club may have seen better days even when we visited the ground ten years ago but it still didn’t deserve to be set alight a fortnight ago, on Saturday 30 January.
“Bloody idiots,” said Tony, who used to score junior games when he was a teenager (when he wasn’t pulling on the red and white jumper and having a game himself.).
The Grubbers ,a strong club in the Bellarine league, moved from Memorial Reserve in The Avenue (near Grubb Road) to Ray Menzies Oval in Shell Road in 2016, so it’s likely the scoreboard hadn’t seen seen much action since then. Not that that is any reason to start a fire.
Bloody idiots.
