Avoca Public Park, Victoria

We took the long way home from Creswick, stopping off at Avoca, where we were impressed by the Sunday-morning helpfulness of the ladies in the Information Centre. We still don’t know for sure if we had tracked down the impressive childhood residence of our elderly neighbour, but all concerned had a good crack at confirming our suspicions. And isn’t the Avoca Primary School something to behold.

After a leisurely scoffing of a pair of Pyrenees pies in the sheltered shed on the broad median of the Sunraysia Highway, I figured that the local footy ground might be worth a final squiz before we headed back into the city.

Just down Duke Street, the narrow entrances to Avoca Public Park led us into the splendid home of the Avoca FNC, the Bulldogs, who compete in the Maryborough Castlemaine District FNL and the Avoca Cricket Club in the Maryborough and District CA.
