Bryan Martyn Oval, Newport, Victoria.

Quarter-time in a Division I Reserves game of the Western Region Football League in Melbourne. You’d think the home team had the strong wind but they notched up those five goals kicking into it.

The scoreboard is unlikely to win any awards for aesthetics, but I liked the looks of the teams’ jumpers. No carbon copies of AFL jumpers.

Bryan Martyn is father of Mick Martyn, North Melbourne premiership full-back and more recently a tennis player in a Tuesday night comp.

Our previous visit.

  1. I agree about the jumpers… be good to see a blog about all the older footy jumpers around the AFL states. My local footy team as a kid in Vic was purple and gold…
