The late nineties were a sad time for the Newtown Football Club in the Esperance District Football Association. In fact the league team didn’t win a game in 1996, 1997 or 1998 so the scoreboard at the picturesque ground didn’t see much positive action.
In 2006 Newtown merged with Condingup and in 2009 the Lions won their first premiership as Newtown-Condingup.
Sometimes it’s good to merge.
