Scoreboard Pressure visited the Campbells Creek ground, near Castlemaine, after its Stereo Stories gig at the Newstead Short Story Tattoo on the first weekend of May. All the action had been the day (or the week) before, of course, but we managed to find some numbers and letters.
On the other side of Castlemaine is the Doug Powell Oval, near Chewton. This oval has a bike track around the perimeter – like the West Geelong ground the old Gabba, eh? But there were no lines marking the goal squares, the 50 metre arcs, the centre circle, making us wonder if there’s much footy played there these days. Is the Wesley Hill Football Club still a going concern?

We were tempted to break into the Castlemaine Table Tennis Centre to get our first photo of a table tennis scoreboard. Maybe next time. Unless a bloke from Western Australia beats us to it.
