The Two Blues’ scoreboard has a sense of permanence, doesn’t it? Lindisfarne Football Club has been around since 1911.
They play in the Southern Football League in Tasmania, against such clubs as Dodges Ferry, Brighton and New Norfolk. The seniors won a flag in 1957 defeating Ogilvenions 12.14 (86) to 6.8 (44). In 2008 they were undefeated – until Grand Final day, when they lost to Huonville 9.14 (68) to 16.9 (105).
Sydney Swans champion Michael O’Loughlin pulled on the Two Blues jumper in 2013. (Round 8, to be precise.) The club’s website has plenty of photos from that game but no glimpse of the scoreboard. (The club’s website also has quotes from Babe Ruth, Ian Healy and Mark Twain.)
Talking of precise, you’ll find this ground at 147.35007°E, 42.85003°S, reports Mark Duffett, geophysicist and our newest contributor. Welcome aboard, Mark. (@MarkDuffett)
Atrocious and almost impossible to read scoreboard this one. Hasn’t changed since the 80s. Possibly one of the worst ovals I’ve ever been too.
