The Wycheproof Recreation Reserve is the home of the Wycheproof-Narraport Demons who play in the North Central Football League and are the competition’s most successful club.

Wycheproof’s most famous footy product is triple Richmond premiership player Merv Keane while Greg Kennedy (Carlton), Chris Pym (Richmond) and Corey Jones (North Melbourne) are also local products. Jones returned home at the conclusion of his AFL career to win the Wycheproof-Narraport best and fairest award in 2011 and 2013 and the Des Darcy Medal as the best player in the NCFL in 2011.

Oldtimers will tell you the greatest Wycheproof player was Mancel Giddings who won four competition best and fairest awards.

A striking feature of Wycheproof is the train line that runs through the main street.
