There are not many island footy teams in Australia and the Phillip Island Bulldogs make the most of  their geographic significance on the scoreboard at Cowes.

The Bulldogs play in the Alberton Football Netball League (since 2005) and have been around in various leagues since 1930. Phillip Island won the reserves premiership in 2015 but haven’t yet won the big one.

The team should be well chosen this year – the chairman of selectors in Hawthorn legend Kelvin Moore.
