Lochiel Park, Orbost, Victoria

Orbost Football Club was formed in the 1890s  and has had much success over the years.  The East Gippsland Football League reformed under its current name in 1974. Since then Orbost FC won 9 senior premierships.

Declining populations saw a merger with Snowy Rovers FC in 2003 under the name Orbost Snowy Rovers FC. Population decline has continued and the senior team has struggled for success in recent years. Promising young players move away from the area for work or tertiary study and many do not return.

The club is geographically isolated towards the east and the other 7 clubs in the EGFL are closer together or in larger towns where there is an abundance of players to recruit from.

The club has one of the most attractive jumpers in country footy (or any footy!) with a river representing the Snowy River waving through their attractive double blue shaded jumper.

More info at the Australian Football site.
